Location is impeccable 👌, but..... This property is the worst of all GMVN properties from accommodation perspective. Don't know which incompetent person designed it. Common Balconies should have been on the River side so guests could enjoy the view from the balcony itself. Best is to demolish the property and build a new building by hiring a good architect & civil engineer.

A beautiful little quaint village in the Lap of Himalayas. Surrounded by snow capped peaks and the Bhagirathi river flowing beside. Constantly reminding of how life just passes by. 10/10 for the location and the guest house. Located right at the bank of Bhagirathi river, this beautiful property is one for the nature lovers.

Amazing location felt like staying in heaven atmosphere was great. Stayed in deluxe Hut only one available in the property. Nice room but needs an upgradation as hot water geyser was not working they supplied us hot water in bucket. Toilet and taps was not working properly as the water pressure was low. One has to walk 300-400 meters to reach the property as car can't get to the property. Parking is not available at the property. There a local parking spot where you can park your vehicle and then have to walk with your luggage to reach the property.

Best hotel in Harshil to stay. Good food, excellent staff. Rooms are generally not available if you don't pre book the same from GMVN website in 2 months advance. In winters though you may easily get the same walking in. Hotel rests along Bhagirathi river and pine trees with awesome scenery.

Located on the banks of river Bhagirathi this property of GMVN is a must visit place to enjoy the scenic views of Harsil valley. This is Tourist Guest House setup in an old dak bunglow that reminds of the good old days. Well maintained rooms with all facilities that one can expect. Staff is excellent and ready to help at any time. During our visit to Gangotri we were accomodated here. Somehow due to heavy traffic and our bad luck we reached very late in night. It was almost midnight but the staff was ever energetic and ready to welcome us all. We were served freshly cooked food that was beyond our expectations. A big thanks to the staff for that service. Only negative point is you will have to walk a significant distance from main road. But that walk is worth.

I try to visit Uttarakhand at least once a year. This year I stayed in GMVN'S - Barkot, Jankichatti, Barkot TRH, Gangotri, Rampur, Harsil. I am afraid to say. Their rooms, service, food, cleanliness deteriorated drastically. Posting some images of Rampur for reference. Food options - only rice, roti, dal, aloo shimla, aloo jeera, papad whether it's lunch or dinner. Cleanliness - Better not to speak. Places like the Gangotri roof were partly broken. Constantly cold air was flowing to keep us "more cool". The heater wasn't there. Flush in the toilet does not work. Extra pillows are not available. In Barkot TRH it started raining outside and water dripping in our side table from up. Several other points I can add BUT no point of doing that it is better to avoid GMVN's now on. I will rely and book private properties.

Views from the balcony — 5 stars !!!! And then everything tumbles down. Poor fittings, shabby furniture, broken tiles in bathroom, wet towels, and a huge spider on the wall…. A strange grubby smell in the room as if it’s not been cleaned for a while ( the manager had no idea we were coming ). It was called the “deluxe hut “. And not to mention the 600-700 mtrs walk in the rain to get to this place. Nightmare is the only word to describe it.
